Johanna Malangré appointed as Musical Director of the Orchestre National de Picardie
We are thrilled to announce that conductor Johanna Malangré has just been appointed as the new Musical Director of the Orchestre National de Picardie. Starting in September 2022, she will be the second female conductor ever appointed to an orchestra in France.
She has offered a visionary and innovative project to promote music to an increasing variety of potential concertgoers in a region where the orchestra has already a strong presence. In addition to her conducting skills, Johanna has convinced the jury and the musicians of her wish to present the orchestral repertoire with new concert forms, new venues and to a new audience.
The young German conductor, Johanna Malangré has distinguished herself as assistant conductor of Cologne Chamber Opera and guest conductor of the Orchestra of the Hungarian National Opera, the Orchestra of the Royal Opera of Versailles, and the Munich Symphony Orchestra.
She has been Musical Director of the Hidalgo Festival Orchestra in Munich since 2019 and will lead the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, the Kiel Philharmonic Orchestra, and Collegium Novum Zürich during the 2020/2021 season. Johanna Malangré will succeed Arie van Beek.
