The Carducci String Quartet and Paul Carey Jones perform at the Three Choirs Festival, UK

Following a busy summer for both Paul Carey Jones and the Carducci String Quartet, both artists perform at the Three Choirs Festival next week, contributing to a varied and exciting programme.

Paul Carey Jones takes to the stage in Stephen McNeff's The Burning Boy this Saturday, 27 July (14:00) at Tewkesbury Abbey. Following its highly successful premiere in 2017, The Burning Boy, is here performed with Paul Carey Jones in the role of the protagonist, Elisha. Described as "a miracle play for music theatre", and based on a libretto by renowned poet Charles Causley, the opera tells the story of Elisha, set during harvest-time in rural England. Prepare to be enchanted by the emotion of this ancient tale!

“[…] but the commanding central figure was a seasoned pro: Paul Carey Jones, magnificently sonorous and giving a masterclass in diction as the conflicted Elisha.”
