Congratulations to cellist Benedict Kloeckner who progresses to the semi-finals of the XVI International Tchaikovsky Competition

After yesterday’s First Round, we are delighted to announce Benedict Kloeckner has made it to the Semi-Finals of the XVI International Tchaikovsky Competition in St. Petersburg , which will take place tomorrow, 22 June at 21:20 UK-time in the Small Hall of the D. Shostakovich St. Petersburg Academic Philharmonia.

Kloeckner will present a programme including:
Brahms Sonata for Cello and Piano no. 2 in F Major, Op. 99
Tchaikovsky String Quartet No. 1 in D Major, Op. 11 - Andante cantabile (arr. for cello and piano)
Piatigorsky Variations on a Theme of Paganini for Cello and Piano
