BBC New Generation Artists, the Consone Quartet are joined by harpsichordist Justin Taylor (the Professional Critics Association’s ‘Musical Revelation of the Year’ 2017) as they perform three of Bach’s most richly textured chamber works in a BBC Radio 3 Lunchtime Concert at LSO St Luke’s, London.

This January, BBC Radio 3 explores the intricate textures, complex shapes and irresistible melodic lines of Bach's chamber music. With compositions that range from witty and joyful to meditative and metaphysical, Bach distilled the depths of philosophy and emotion into his works throughout his life, frequently transforming these themes into highly personal works. In this series, listen up-close and explore the magnetic charm of Bach’s music in all its elaborate detail.

Programme:

Harpsichord Concerto In D min, BWV 1052

Toccata in D major for solo harpsichord, BWV 912

Harpsichord Concerto in G minor, BWV 1058

The concert, which is on 24th January, 13:00, will be recorded for future broadcast on BBC Radio 3.
