Superb Tenor Ben Johnson performs as "Basilio" in Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro” at the Grange Festival

Starting from 6 June until 30 June, Ben Johnson will perform the role of “Basilio” in Mozart’s operatic masterpiece “Le Nozze di Figaro” counted as one of “The best operas ever written by a human being”.

The opera, told in four acts and sung in Italian, takes place in the 18th century in Spain, on Figaro and Susanna’s wedding day. 
It conveys a story in which women are portrayed as wiser and more civilised than men, and servants outwit their masters.
Thereby, Mozart’s chaotic comedic opera deals with mistaken identities and twists and turns.

The Grange Festival’s new production of the opera, directed by Martin Lloyd-Evans is joined by The Academy of Ancient Music conducted by Richard Egarr and presents an outstanding cast with some of Europe’s most excellent young artists.
