Upcoming summer highlights for CLB Chamber Groups!

 

A busy summer for our chamber music ensembles! The next two months will see CLB’s quartets appear at festivals across the UK, wider Europe and Scandinavia, and tour further afield to Asia.

The Carducci Quartet start the summer season with a special programme previewing Beethoven’s anniversary year featuring actor Simon Callow at St Albans International Organ Festival (16 July) before heading on to residencies at the Ryedale Festival (21 and 25 July)  - performing with clarinettist Julian Bliss and pianist Pavel Kolesnikov – and Lake District Summer Music Festival (28 and 30 July). They return to the Three Choirs Festival (31 July) to perform alongside tenor James Gilchrist and pianist Anna Tilbrook before being reunited with Julian Bliss for the Snape Proms (4 August).

The Quatuor Van Kuijk’s summer will take them to a number of prestigious festivals across France, including a return residency at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence (9 - 12 July) where they were HSBC Academy Laureates in 2014, as well as Denmark and Germany. Among a varied mix of classical and romantic quartets, their summer programmes will also include the French premiere of Benjamin Attahir’s Achrakyne for string quartet and percussion with Vassilena Serafimova, as well as Brahms’s Clarinet Quintet with Jérôme Comte at Impérial Palace (25 August).

The rising star Consone Quartet will also present Brahms’s clarinet quintet with Colin Lawson in two concerts and appear at a number UK festivals across July and August before they prepare for the start of their first season as BBC New Generation Artists.

Following its continued success, Quatuor Voce return to Vendôme for their Festival-Academy Quatuor à Vendôme (22 - 30 July) in which they present a range of events including masterclasses, workshops, and concerts.

Alongside two appearances at the Radio France Festival (17 and 18 July), the award-winning Notos Quartett will embark on an exciting tour of Japan performances in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Nagoya (2-5 July), making this their second Asian trip this year following an acclaimed tour to China in April.
