Rinaldo Alessandrini and Concerto Italiano featured in BBC Music Magazine's list of "Best Monteverdi recordings"
Rinaldo Alessandrini and Concerto Italiano's recording of Monteverdi's Fourth Book of Madrigals has been praised by BBC Music Magazine as one of the "finest examples of the work of Claudio Monteverdi on disc".
Labelled "a virtuosic account of this great a capella book" the recording ranks amongst the top four according to BBC Music Magazine. Released on the Naïve label in 1993, the ensemble went on to garner a number of prizes and awards for their recordings including a staggering:
5 Gramophone Awards (the only Italian ensemble to have been honoured to such level),
10 Diapasons d’Or and 2 Diapason d’Or de l’année,
2 Deutscher Schallplattenpreis,
12 10 de Rèpertoire awards,
