CLB Management's 2019 Christmas Highlights: Chamber Groups
As we are now approaching the end of the year, we at CLB would like to share some of our artists’ highlights of Autumn 2019 and what they have to look forward to in 2020, starting with our Chamber Groups!
The Carducci Quartet enjoyed a busy Autumn filled with tours and residencies!
Following their four-concert residency in October in Ischia, performing with renowned musicians including Simon Rowland-Jones, James Gilchrist and Tim Horton, the quartet embarked on two further tours, one in Scotland and the North of England with clarinettist Julian Bliss, and another in Ireland.
Next year, the Carduccis will make a return appearance at the Barbican Centre on 1 and 2 February as part of the Beethoven Weekender, where they will perform a concert combining extracts from the composer’s intensely passionate letters with some of his most profound and intimate music.
The Quatuor Van Kuijk‘s Autumn took them to a number of prestigious halls, a tour of Sweden with pianist Håvard Gimse, and saw the release of their latest CD!
The quartet made return appearances at renowned European venues including the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, the Wiener Konzerthaus, and London’s Wigmore Hall.
In October, they released their Mozart album, on Alpha Classics/Outhere Music, for which they received critical acclaim in Diapason, Classica, Rondo, and Gramophone.
The Van Kuijks continue their string of dates at Europe’s finest concert halls with performances at the Cité de la Musique (11 January), Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon (26 January), and La Fenice, Venice (9/10 March).
The Consone Quartet began their first season as BBC New Generation Artists with several performances across the UK, collecting rave reviews for their concerts at the end of November.
The quartet have since been listed as one of BBC Radio and Sounds's 2019 Christmas highlights.
The Consone begin the New Year with an exciting collaboration with harpsichordist Justin Taylor at LSO St Luke's as part of BBC Radio 3’s Lunchtime series on 24 January.
Le Consort finish the year with plenty of great news following concerts in Italy, Belgium, and France.
In concert, the ensemble have presented programmes inspired by their latest album ‘Opus 1’, released on Alpha Classics/Outhere Music last August. Subsequently, the disc was recently awarded the ‘Diapason d'Or de l'année 2019’!
Le Consort make a notable debut at deSingel on 1 February, performing as part of a day of concerts organised by Klara Radio.
