Benedict Nelson in The Silver Tassie

Benedict Nelson made an acclaimed appearance with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Singers, and Finchley Children’s Music Group as the Corporal in Mark-Anthony Turnage’s The Silver Tassie on Saturday night, as part of the Barbican Centre’s Armistice remembrance series Total Immersion: In Remembrance World War I.

Stepping in at short notice, Nelson featured amongst a cast of “top-notch soloists” in a production that has received a raft of glowing reviews for its “seamless, deeply moving” and “poignant” performance.
