Finalist and ‘Special Mention’ at the International Besançon Conducting Competition in 2019 and, more recently, awarded the televised French Music Award (Victoire de la Musique) in the conductor category, Victor Jacob is establishing himself as one of the most promising young conductors of his generation, at ease in all repertoires (choral, opera, and symphonic).
In 2023, Victor was appointed at the Opéra de Paris, as Principal Conductor of ADO (Apprentissage de l’Orchestre, ie Orchestra learning), the first French youth opera orchestra scheme known in France, a position he will also hold during 2024/2025.
Victor has been invited to conduct in his native country the Orchestre National de Lyon, Orchestre Philharmonique de Marseille, Orchestre National de Montpellier, Orchestre National de Lille, Orchestre Symphonique de Mulhouse, Orchestre de l’Opéra Royal de Versailles, Orchestre de l’Opéra de Rouen, Orchestre National de France, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, Orchestre de Chambre National Aquitaine, and Orchestre de Picardie. Abroad, he has also been the guest conductor of the Orquesta Sinfónica Simón Bolivár de Venezuela, Esbjerg Ensemble, Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken, Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège, Orchestre National de Belgique.
In 2024/2025, he will make his debut with both the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and the Tonkünstler-Orchester Niederösterreich (including a performance as part of the Bruckner festival in Linz), as well as Orchestre National d’Ile de France.
